The forest inventory and appraisal is important for two reasons.

• We can provide a forest inventory that estimates species volume and composition that will allow for implementation of forest management practices to improve tree growth and value or the removal of undesirable species.

• With this information collected from the forest inventory we can then establish your timber basis, which in turn will allow you or your accountant to determine the cost basis of your woods. By having the cost basis established, it will reduce the amount you pay in taxes when your woods is harvested
